Aluminum and its alloys

Aluminum is silvery-white ductile metal.

Comes in the form of:

  • primary aluminum. Brand: А999 (99.99% aluminum and the amount of impurities not more than 0.0001%), A995, A99; 97, etc.;

  • aluminum powder, foil;

  • aluminum alloys, such as:

    • silumin — alloy of aluminum and silicon(SIL);

    • duralumin (dural) is an alloy of aluminum with copper and manganese (D16, D16T);

    • the spaciousness is an alloy of aluminum with manganese (AMC);

    • alloys of aluminum with magnesium (AMG).

Aluminum and its alloys lend themselves well to hot and cold deformation — rolling, forging, pressing, drawing, bending, sheet stamping, etc.

Depending on the purpose of the aluminum alloys are divided into:

  • casting;

  • deformable — up to 80% of the total production of aluminum alloys.

The deformable aluminum alloys are supplied in the form of sheet metal (mostly) shaped profile, bars, wire and pipes (mostly pressed).

The purpose of some aluminum alloys:

Corrosion-resistant alloys such as AMC, AMG2, AMG6 are characterized by high plasticity, good weld ability and high corrosion resistance. Alloys are used in an annealed, hardened and semi-cold-hardened state, heat treatment is not strengthened. Used for the manufacture of pipelines for oil and gasoline, radiators for tractors and cars, welded gas tanks, rivets, hulls and masts, etc.

Slabs

Slab of aluminum and its alloys are made in accordance with the requirements of GOST 17232-99 from aluminum grades A7, A6, A5, AO, with chemical composition according to GOST 11069; ADOO, ADO, AD, AD1 with the chemical composition according to GOST 4784; of aluminum alloys: AMC, AMCS, AMG2, AMGZ, AMG5, AMGB, 1915, AV, D1, D16, V95, AK4-1 with the chemical composition according to GOST 4784; D19, D20, VАD1.

Slabs are divided:

  • according to the manufacturing experience: non-clad, clad: with technological plating, with normal plating;

  • according accuracy of manufacturing thickness: normal accuracy, enhanced accuracy.

Slabs are made without cutting the side edges.

Rods

Rods made from aluminum and its alloys (round, square, hexagonal) are made in accordance with the requirements of GOST 21488-97 normal, high, high precision; without heat treatment (hot-pressed), soft (annealed), tempered and naturally aged, hardened and artificially aged; normal and high strength.

Sheets

Sheets of aluminum and its alloys are produced according to GOST 21631-76.

Sheets of aluminum are divided into:

  • depending on the method of manufacture: replace range clad, with normal plating, thick plating;

  • depending on state of material:

  • without heat treatment;

  • annealed;

  • semi-cold-hardened;

  • cold-hardened;

  • hardened and naturally aged;

  • hardened and artificially aged;

  • cold-hardened after quenching and natural aging;

  • depending on quality surface finishing: high finishing, improved finishing, ordinary finishing;

  • depending on the manufacturing precision:

  • high accuracy in thickness, width, length or one or two of the parameters;

  • normal accuracy in thickness, width, length.

Pipes

Pipe extruded from aluminum and its alloys are produced according to GOST 18482-79 with an outer diameter of 18-300mm with wall thickness of 1.5-40mm aluminum grades AD0, AD1, and AD and aluminum alloys AMC, AMG2, D1,D16, AK6, V95, etc.

Aluminum pipes are delivered: without heat treatment, annealed, hardened and naturally aged, hardened and artificially aged.
